This is to inform you that tomorrow, 18th Sept, there will be an interactive session with Professor Philippe Cullet who is a Professor of international and environmental law at SOAS university, with students of AUD as a part of a class titled Learning to See in Room number 402 in the Admin block. Professor Cullet. whose research includes work on water law and governance, wiil be conversing with the students about their recent trip to sites upstream on the Yamuna, by Paonta Saheb and also to sites on the Giri river in Sirmour. The 2 hour discussion, which begins at 11 AM, is also open to faculty and students from outside the class.
About Professor Cullet.
Professor Cullet’s main areas of interest include environmental law, natural resources, human rights and the socio-economic aspects of intellectual property. He works on these at the international level and in India. His current research includes work on water law and governance with a particular focus on groundwater, drinking water, sanitation, inter-sectoral water allocation and institutional reforms in India; equity and justice in environmental law; biodiversity, including benefit sharing and biosafety; climate change; and justice, with a particular focus on environmental and water rights.
