School of Development Studies
The School of Development Studies is organizing a talk titled “New Social Theory for New Social Movements” by Prof. Michael Burawoy, eminent sociologist and Professor, Department of Sociology, University of California at Berkeley on 28 January at 2pm in Room 316, AUD Dwarka Campus.
Prof. Burawoy, a leading name in industrial sociology and the leading proponent of public sociology, is known as the author of Manufacturing Consent: Changes in the Labor Process under Monopoly Capitalism, The Colour of Class, and the Politics of Production, which have been pioneering works. He is also currently the president of the International Sociological Association (ISA).
The talk will be chaired by Prof. Ari Sitas, Professor, Department of Sociology, University of Cape Town, South Africa.
