Dear members of the AUD community,
Centre for Community Knowledge at Ambedkar University Delhi would like to invite you to a Neighbourhood Museum in Mehrauli, Delhi. "Hum Sab Mehrauli" is an open exhibition that displays Mehrauli's past through people's memories of the neighbourhood.
Given Mehrauli’s continuous history, it is fallacious to split it into its past, a medieval Mehrauli, and its present, Mehrauli as it is today. Like any other neighbourhood, Mehrauli’s history needs to be studied within this continuity in the way spaces and structures have been negotiated with by the residents here. Therefore, this projects attempts to exhibit some of the collected narratives of residents from different parts of the settlement. Given the vastness of this place, we have tried to present a small variety of memories and experiences, always shifting and conflicting.
The exhibition is open all day to everyone, from 28 February till 10 March, 2017, at the following two addresses:-
Kalu Ram Complex:
Kalu Ram Complex, Desu Road, Nai Basti, Ward 1, Mehrauli, New Delhi, Delhi 110030
