Education & Research

Mr. Singh’s research interests centre on the exploring the experience of poverty, trauma, marginalization, ethnic and communal violence in Indian culture from a psychodynamic perspective. He is particularly interested in exploring the dynamics of the phenomenon of “terrorism” and the inner world of a “terrorist” from a psychoanalytic lens. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology and Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Delhi University. Since the year 2000 he has been working in the social sector in various capacities.

 

Past Employment

Mr. Singh has extensive experience of working in the social service sector for about a decade. He has been a consultant psychotherapist and supervisor for many NGO’s working with individual and families in the area of substance abuse, HIV / AIDS, trauma and violence. He has keen interest in working with people undergoing various kinds of crisis, trauma, communal and ethnic violence. He has also worked towards providing psychological help for the socially and economically disadvantaged families

CONFERENCE PAPERS 

  • Presented a paper titled The Human in the “Terrorist”: A Psycho-Social Study about the Dynamics of Violent Activism in Young Researchers Workshop 2010 organized by CSCS Bangalore.
  • Participated in a panel discussion on Child Abuse in an IAFT conference 2008.
