Composition of CPSH

  • The revised CPSH is an 26 member committee representing all constituents who will be directly elected:
  • At KG campus: 18 (out of which at least 11 should be women)
    • Students: 5 (out of which at least 3 should be women)
    • Hostel Students: 1 (woman)
    • Student researcher: 1 (woman)
    • Faculty: 7 (out of which at least 4 should be women)
    • Non-teaching staff: 4 (out of which at least 2 should be women)
  • At Karampura campus: 8 (out of which at least 5 should be women)
    • Students: 3 (out of which at least 2 should be women)
    • Faculty: 3 (out of which at least 2 should be women)
    • Non-teaching staff: 2 (out of which at least 1 should be a woman)
    • Members from a pool of outside experts with known contribution to gender issues: 2
  • Additional Members from a pool of outside experts with known contribution to gender issues: 2
  • In accordance with the Vishaka Judgment, it shall be mandatory for each Committee under the present Rules and Procedures to have a woman Chairperson as well as at least 50 per cent women members. Members from any gender can contest elections.
  • The CPSH shall form from within its members Screening Committee, Enquiry Committee and Vacations Committee to address complaints of sexual harassment.
  • The tenure of non-student members will be of three years from the date of assumption of office, and shall be subject to a maximum of two consecutive terms.
  • Student members (including hostel and research scholars’ representative) shall have a term of One year.
